Transforming leadership
to meet the needs of a changing world.
About Co-Lead International
Co-Lead International is a nonprofit advocacy group that champions transformative and sustainable leadership development worldwide. The organization was founded in 2014 in Denver, Colorado by Chet W. Sisk and Dr. Dan Lutz.
Mission
The mission of Co-Lead International is to promote and train for a globally competent form of leadership that serves the context of the present global paradigm shift.
Vision
Our vision is twofold: to promote awareness of the present global shift and create leadership policy for individuals and organizations to address it; and to create and facilitate programs that foster the development of a new leadership approach to create a healthy, sustainable, and a more peaceful world.
The Global Paradigm Shift, Defined
The Global Paradigm Shift is characterized by a more connected, lateral and technology-leveraged world that is developing at an increasing speed with implications for individuals, communities, nations and the planet. Manifestations of the global paradigm shift include a rapid rise of automation, new modes of widely accessible communication, and a global interconnectedness that reaches beyond borders and socioeconomic status. The shift is creating positive human empowerment like never before seen on the planet, as well as fear-provoking circumstances, new and devastating chain reactions that threaten humanity and the natural world. It is into this shift that Co-Lead International seeks to promote and train for a new leadership model that harnesses the positive potential of the shift for all individuals, communities, and organizations.
The Co-Lead Model of Leadership
Our model of leadership is community-lead and horizontal, with key tenants in shared voice, shared innovation, and shared implementation. Our leadership model is characterized by the “Co” in our organization’s name with indicators that include Compassion, Intercultural Competence, Collaboration, Commitment, Cooperation, Community, Co-creation, and Consensus-building.
What Co-Lead Does
Co-Lead policy development and programs nurture mindful, effective and visionary leadership that empowers authentic, positive and long-term transformation.
Policy Development
Co-Lead clarifies and promotes awareness of the global paradigm shift towards greater interconnectedness, rapid technological changes, and potential for collaborative, grassroots leadership. Co-Lead facilitates the development of leadership policy and action plans so individuals and organizations are prepared to step into new dynamic roles.
New Paradigm Leadership Development
Co-Lead creates and supports programs that develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a new leadership approach These skills are essential for individuals, organizations, and institutions to be fully engaged and productive as the shift unfolds. Co-Lead leadership development does not happen in an academic vacuum; it is highly experiential and project-based. In the course of designed projects, program participants engage in applied learning processes geared toward participatory and consensus-building leadership models.
We are the Ones We've Been Waiting For
A poem by Thomas Banyacya Sr. (1910-1999)
Speaker of the Wolf, Fox and Coyote Clan
Elder of the Hopi Nation
You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.
And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community. Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.
This could be a good time!
There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off
into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.
See who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
